Sept vehicle sales increase from last year

September auto sales are up from a year ago. Sept 2009 was not a great calendar month for auto revenue. Cash for Clunkers ending led to a slump in automobile sales, just like the homeowner tax credit expired and home revenue dropped off. However, modest gains are realized since that time. Sept sales declined after a good August. The greatest gain in sales for the domestic brands was realized by Chrysler.

Since this past year, car revenue better

Car sales went lower dramatically following the Cash for Clunkers program ended. The auto industry has been clawing for gains ever since. The United States of America auto revenue are beginning to increase steadily since Sept 2009. The vehicle industry in total marked a 29 percent increase since this past year, according to Automotive News. Domestic auto firms realized good increases. Ford sales increased by 40 percent. General Motors sales increased by 11 percent. Chrysler sales shot through the roof, as the business marked a 61 percent increase. Only one company didn’t get much better this year, and actually did worse. Suzuki was that company.

Lower this month

The increase may have been good in the year, but the calendar month of September was slower than August. Many kids are returning to school, and no one wants a new auto loan if they have a tuition bill to cover. The year may show Chrysler doing extremely well. Unfortunately, since August, the gain has only been 1 percent. Ford had the best September sales with a 2 percent bump from August. In the past month, General Motors had revenue fall quite a bit. There was a 7 percent drop in sales. The percentage Ford sold may be higher but GM actually sold more cars. Auto industry experts think the fourth quarter will actually turn out good still, reports CNN.

Rebounding gradually but surely

The vehicle industry, along with numerous other industries dependent on consumer spending, has been rocked by the economy. Of course, it is being resolved although it might be slow.
